Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Easy Walk
Arrive in Paro. Easy acclimatization walk along the river to Kyichu Lhakhang temple (3km, 1 hour). Welcome dinner. Overnight: Paro
Day 2: Chele La Pass Hike
Drive to Chele La Pass (3,988m). Hike along the ridge among prayer flags with stunning views of Jomolhari and Haa valley. 8km hike, 3-4 hours at high altitude - pace yourself and drink plenty of water as your body continues acclimatizing. Overnight: Paro
Day 3: Thimphu Hikes
Drive to Thimphu. Hike to Tango Monastery (4km, 2 hours) through beautiful forest. Afternoon city exploration. Overnight: Thimphu
Day 4: Punakha Hike
Drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass. Hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten on a hilltop (2 hours round trip). Visit Punakha Dzong. Overnight: Punakha
Day 5: Phobjikha Valley
Drive to Phobjikha. Walk the Gangtey Nature Trail through the glacial valley (5km, 2-3 hours). Visit Gangtey Monastery. Overnight: Phobjikha
Day 6: Forest Hike
Morning hike through pristine oak and rhododendron forests above Phobjikha (3-4 hours). Afternoon drive to Punakha. Overnight: Punakha
Day 7: Return to Paro
Scenic drive to Paro. Optional afternoon hike to Dzongdrakha temple (2 hours). Early night to rest your legs for tomorrow's grand finale. Overnight: Paro
Day 8: Tiger's Nest Hike
The grand finale: the classic hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest). Approximately 10km round trip, 4-5 hours, 900m elevation gain - and after a week of daily hikes, your legs are ready for it. Explore the sacred temples perched on cliffs. Farewell dinner to celebrate. Overnight: Paro
Day 9: Departure
Transfer to airport. You've completed daily hikes through Bhutan's most beautiful landscapes - from the iconic Tiger's Nest to remote forest trails - all while enjoying comfortable hotel accommodations each night. Tashi Delek!
