Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Arrive in Paro. Transfer to hotel and rest after your mountain flight. Afternoon acclimatization walk around Paro town. Visit Paro Dzong and explore the traditional architecture. Evening briefing about tomorrow's trek. The Bumdra trek is short but spectacular - camping high above Tiger's Nest monastery. Overnight: Hotel in Paro (2,235m)

Day 2: Trek to Bumdra

Morning drive to trailhead north of Paro valley. Begin climbing through blue pine and rhododendron forests. The trail climbs steadily for 3-4 hours to Bumdra camp (3,800m), situated on a high ridge with spectacular views. On one side, look down on Tiger's Nest monastery clinging to cliffs below you. On the other side, Paro valley spreads out 1,500m below. Along the way, pass a traditional sky burial site (dokha) - where Buddhists practice celestial burial, leaving bodies for vultures. Day 3: Descent via Tiger's Nest

Wake before dawn to witness sunrise over the Himalayas. Watch the peaks ignite in pink and gold light. This magical moment alone justifies the trek. After breakfast, break camp and descend via the monks' trail toward Tiger's Nest (Taktsang Monastery). This secret path is less traveled than the main tourist route. Day 4: Departure
