Day 1: Welcome to Bhutan!
Arrive at Paro airport - kids love the dramatic mountain approach! Traditional welcome with white scarves (khata). Transfer to luxury resort with family suite. Let kids explore the property and adjust to altitude. Evening: Kid-friendly welcome dinner with Bhutanese dishes plus familiar options. Overnight: COMO Uma Paro or similar (family suite)
Day 2: Paro Discovery Day
Morning: Visit Ta Dzong (National Museum) - kids love the sword displays, armor, and natural history exhibits. Explore Paro Dzong - discuss how dzongs were forts, monasteries, and government buildings in one! Afternoon: Archery lesson! Bhutan's national sport is fun for all ages. Day 3: Paro to Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu (1 hour). Visit the Takin Zoo - kids are fascinated by Bhutan's bizarre national animal (looks like a goat-moose!). Explore the giant Buddha Dordenma - ride the elevator inside and enjoy the views. Afternoon: Visit archery stadium to watch local matches. The cheering and celebration is entertaining for all ages. Day 4: Thimphu to Punakha
Drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass. Stop at the 108 stupas - kids can count them all! Visit Punakha Dzong, the most beautiful fortress in Bhutan. Explore the courtyard and listen to monks chanting. Afternoon: Suspension bridge walk (safe, bouncy fun!) to Punakha village. River rafting for adventurous families (Class I-II rapids, suitable for kids 8+). Day 5: Farmstay Experience
Today: Authentic Bhutanese farm life! Morning: Walk to a traditional farmhouse. Kids feed animals, try rice pounding, and learn about village life. Cooking class: Make momos (dumplings) together as a family. Lunch together with the farm family. Afternoon: Village games with local children - Dego (stone throwing), rubber band jumping. Day 6: Phobjikha Valley
Drive to beautiful Phobjikha valley (glacial valley, 3,000m). If visiting Nov-March, spot endangered black-necked cranes! Gangtey Nature Trail (easy 3km walk) through meadows and forests. Day 7: Return to Paro

Day 8: Tiger's Nest Family Adventure
The grand finale - the adventure the whole family has trained for all week! Hike to Tiger's Nest (Taktsang Monastery). For younger children: Hike to the viewpoint (1-2 hours) for amazing photos, then return. Hire a horse for part of the climb if needed. For older kids: Complete the full hike (4-5 hours round trip).
