Day 1: Arrival
Arrive in Paro, transfer to Thimphu (1 hour). Check into hotel. Evening orientation about Thimphu Tshechu, held annually at Tashichho Dzong in autumn. This is one of Bhutan's largest festivals, attracting thousands of locals dressed in finest traditional attire. Early morning to secure good viewing spots at Tashichho Dzong courtyard. The massive fortress provides a spectacular setting. Opening ceremonies with processions of monks, officials, and dancers.
